I am an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia and author of the open textbooks World Regional Geography and Introduction to Human Geography. My research areas include the geography of religion, food geographies, and explorations of geographic theory and methodology. I am also involved in faculty development, with a focus on pedagogical research and open educational resources. I love working with undergraduate students on research projects and teach a variety of courses, including World Regional Geography, Quantitative Methods in Geography, and Southern Foodways. Outside of my professional career, I enjoy woodworking, baking, playing drums, and creative writing.
