I am an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia and author of the open textbooks World Regional Geography, Introduction to Human Geography, and Human Geography: A Connected Approach. I am also the co-author of the open lab manual, Quantitative Methods in Geography. My research areas include the geography of religion, food geographies, and explorations of geographic theory and methodology. I am also active in research on geography pedagogy and open educational resources. I love working with undergraduate students on research projects and teach a variety of courses, including World Regional Geography, Quantitative Methods in Geography, and Southern Foodways. Outside of my professional career, I enjoy woodworking, baking, playing drums, and creative writing.
